About WorThy

Dr. Shannon McFarlin, WorThy creator and founder of Working Therapy PLLC, is a licensed professional counselor, Board-approved counselor supervisor, certified school counselor, counselor educator, and trainer/consultant in the state of Texas. Dr. McFarlin and her colleague, Dr. Kimberly McGough, authored the Research-Informed Adaptable Model for the Prevention of Suicide in Schools (RAMPSS), a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model that they published to the American School Counselor Association’s flagship journal, Professional School Counseling (McFarlin & McGough, 2021). Subsequently, Dr. McFarlin developed WorThy, a suicide risk tracking tool, for RAMPSS program implementation. Today, WorThy helps parents, guardians, school counselors, clinical counselors, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals to keep youth safe from suicide.
